Humanoid

About the project:

Humanoid is part of the series “Metamitological Beings”, a series of small-format sculptures in which the most representative characters of Peri Helio’s graphic work are reproduced. Among them we can find reinterpretations of different deities and mythological beings of ancestral peoples, as well as other beings created by the artist from the observation of his surroundings and the usual social criticism implicit in much of his work.

Made in the XXIX edition of the Rakú Según Nigrán, which year after year is organised by the masters Emilia Guimeráns and Miguel Vázquez, this sculpture has been decorated using this ancestral technique (Rakú). A white enamel has been used on the body and fugitive copper on the head, while the blackened parts of the sculpture have been dyed by the direct contact of the smoke with the stoneware.
