Chick is a linocut made by Peri in the workshops of the Escuela Municipal de Artes y Oficios de Vigo (EMAO). It is a numbered and signed edition of only 7 copies and it is also the artist’s first work in linoleum.

For this work he has chosen a simple and direct image: a solitary chick perched on a small planet. An image full of symbolism that alludes to the modification of species by human activity and the progressive extinction of so many of them.

In addition, the embossing applied to the paper gives an irregular texture to the background of the composition, enriching it aesthetically and technically. It is undoubtedly a singular work in Peri Helio’s oeuvre.
