Balloon Trip is a completely self-published silkscreen edition. The artist has been responsible for the entire process, from the creation of the original design to the printing of each copy of the edition, which is carried out in his own workshop in Vigo. Naturally, this is a limited edition and each copy is numbered and signed.

This work by Peri Helio takes us to a surreal setting in which the forest is the protagonist. Various architectural elements, such as a pyramid or a labyrinth, make their way through the grove. A figure with cat’s ears and a cat’s tail sits on a ‘hot air balloon’ carried by the wind. In his hand he holds a staff that ends in a lighthouse, a primordial light around which revolves an entire planetary system that moves with him.

Balloon Trip is therefore a work that invites us to let our imagination fly, to enter imaginary worlds where nature is the protagonist. At the same time, in this work the artist alludes to the creation of new universes through the universe of smoke that emerges from the bonnet of the fascinating traveller.
